A Rainy Day followed by a Beautiful Day

We are enjoying a wonderful visit with Grammie!  We have had a few days of rain and a few days of sunshine, so it is balancing out nicely:)  We are not letting the rain slow us down too much and decided to head up to the Pass and visit Worthington Glacier.  It was not good weather to hike all the way up to the glacier this time, but the kids had fun in the snow and it was still pretty amazing to look at from a distance.  Yesterday around 1 o'clock the sky finally cleared up and we headed back to Dock Point trail so that Grammie could see the views and see what great hikers the kids have become!  We are getting ready for our big trip to Denali next week and can't wait to see more of this beautiful state!

This little Magpie was following us down the path:)

I'm on a boat!

With Adam's mom in town we decided it was time again to go back out on the moral boat!  The goal was to catch some fish, and see some icebergs.  We saw some icebergs...  However, we also got an amazing show from a very friendly seal!  We were not expecting it but once we made it out to Bligh Reef and started fishing we gained the attention of a seal that was eager to play and be photographed!  He circled our boat and began flipping and jumping in the water for about 15 minutes while we all cheered him on and of course took as many pictures as we could.  Every now and then he would slow down a bit and look right at the camera like he knew exactly what he was doing.  It was great and so unexpected!  When it was time for him to go he swam away with his family that must have been hiding near by out of sight while he played for us.

                                                     Our wonderful entertainment!

Bye!  Thank you for the show!

My little fisher man.

The rocking of the boat put Mariah in a trance!

Valdez Glacier

Today was BEAUTIFUL!  In honor of our beautiful day we went out and found mud!  The last two pictures are of this area in March...  Just 3 short months ago.  Amazing!

Dock Point in June

She did dress herself this morning...  I am aware this outfit looks a bit odd.

Investigating a bug...

Someone was keeping an eye on us:-)

Dock Point in June is beautiful and green!  The last time we did this trail everything was covered in snow, it was still beautiful, but in all white.  This morning was finally sunny and beautiful after several days of rain so the kids and I decided to go have a picnic and then walk the trail.  It was a nice way to spend some time outdoors.  We had the Cooper train and Mariah train tooting the whole way to scare away any bears that might be near by.  We made sure not to sneak up on anyone or anything!  I'm sure we may have taken away from the peaceful hike some people were looking for, but we may have saved a life with our terrible singing! We missed having Adam with us, but he is out to sea!  Please say prayers for a safe trip for the Long Island and its crew!

Chena Hot Springs - Out and About!

We were so blessed by having beautiful warm (mid-60's) weather the time we were there!  We did not want to stay inside so we played on the play ground, played in the hot springs pool, chased ducks, went on nature walks, fed the goats, talked to the horses, and just had fun!
