Disque Family Christmas Tree

Yesterday was an adventure!!  After asking around about where to get a Christmas tree it turns out that most people just go out and chop one down!  It sounds funny but there was not a Christmas tree lot in the town, so in true Alaskan fashion we went out to find one...  Well actually we sent Adam out to chop one down while the kids and I built a snowman.  Once Adam came back victorious we had a fun little picnic and then brought the tree home!  We will post more of it decorated once it is dry:)  We have some snow that needs to melt before we put our lights on it:)  Merry Christmas!!!

Fun in the Snow!

We are having some fun in the snow!!  Lots and lots of snow:)

What a Difference!

The pictures above are of Bridal Veil and Horsetail waterfalls.  The two on the left were taken in late June and the two on the right mid November...  What a change!  There was still some flowing water when we took these a week ago, but not much!

Amazing!

We went on another drive today and got some amazing pictures!  Alaska seems to change daily and it is beautiful with each new phase.  The kids and I had a great time sledding down the drive way for a long time yesterday afternoon.  It is a great workout dragging children in a sled back up a driveway for an hour or so, but they were both having so much fun!  Next time I will try to get pictures, but had my hands full and I was sure a camera would drop!  Enjoy the pictures!

Adam got to use his newest machine this morning!  It snowed all night and was beautiful outside this morning!  Enjoy the pictures!!

1st Snow of the Season!

We went out on a fun little hike to enjoy the first snow of the season!  The picture of my boots is one that I took for my best friend:)
